Chris + Taylor | Jr. League of Houston Wedding Photographer

Taylor + Chris said their I do’s on a rainy-day in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas last summer at the  St. Anne Catholic church. They later had their gorgeous reception at the Junior League of Houston, an organization of women who promote the potential of women and improving the community. I loved that they got married somewhere meaningful and helpful to the community, and they were also able to get ready at the St. Regis hotel right next to the JR League for 5 star-convenience!

While it was raining at the catholic church, it just made the stain-glass windows darker and more photogenic and the church felt more romantic and moody all-around. If you can imagine the booms and crashes and lighting as the couple has their first kiss! It was incredibly romantic.

Upon arriving to the reception the first thing guests would see is the beautiful entrance with decorations, vintage furnitures,  family wedding photos over the years and brides among generations, gorgeous florals, and a calligraphed mirror table chart. You would also see double doors that take you to the party that was amazingly decorated and lit up with hundreds of candles in votives. The blush florals and greenery that wraps around the head table from both sides is incredible. There was so much art put into the reception setup that I feel this wedding has so much to offer inspirationally to other brides out there looking for a classic victorian wedding vibe. Guests could also sign wine bottles for the couple as their guest book substitute.

As the photographer, one of my favorite things about the venue was the beautiful courtyards that you could take photos outside in, unfortunately it was raining all day and super humid so we had to make due with only being around the area but we still made it work and it looked gorgeous.  The humidity on the windows was in our favor for some moody romantic window reflections. The BEST part was all of the intricate and amazing details throughout the entire day. It was a photographer’s dream with endless opportunities for detail shots.

Another tip from a photographers perspective that made this wedding all the better, was that the couple chose to hire a high-end/boutique wedding coordinator that worked with them throughout the entire wedding process. One of the best things about that is working with familiar vendors that are reputable and trusted, and having so much stress lifted off from the couple during the wedding planning process. A team of amazing vendors can create the kind of wedding you see in the magazine and wonder just how they make it so perfect. It also tremendously helps the vendors to have an amazing coordinator! Having a coordinator to keep the day running smoothly and on time helps your photographer more than you know, a long with everyone else. It’s a beautiful production and with great teamwork comes more amazing weddings.

The rose gold florally detail heaven of a wedding, greenery lush glory, and all around classic vibes makes this one of my favorite weddings to date and I would love the world to enjoy it! From the bride: “We want our photos to be timeless and show how much fun we had on our wedding day!” I think they did just that, and everyone had a blast at this classic wedding with gorgeous lush details!
