Doug + Meghan | Houston, TX Wedding Photographer

It was such an honor to photograph Doug and Meghan’s sweet and intimate wedding this summer. Sometimes during the course of planning.. whether it be weddings, events, and life in general… things may go a little off course than what you had originally wanted.. so when Doug found out he was going to be getting transferred to the U.S. Virgin Islands.. they made a mad-dash in a change of plans. And because at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter where, what, when, or how.. it’s all about LOVE. And these two best friends were able to pledge their vows in the presence of dear family and friends; the only thing that truly matters. When you strip down all of the traditions and ‘bling’ of a wedding… THIS is what it’s all about. And being able to witness and capture that for someone makes me feel like I have the most important job in the world. Intimate, special, close-weddings.. always end up being some of my absolute favorites.

Doug and Meghan made us feel so welcome, comfortable, and just a part of their family.. there are no words to express how honored..and how much fun I had… to have been a part of this incredible day with these AMAZING people. Sometimes these blogs start sounding like the same thing over and over.. but it’s because I truly truly mean it.. I LOVE my couples. I enjoyed getting to know Doug and Meghan over the months and the amount of love and respect they not only have for EACH OTHER.. but EVERYONE around them..is incredible. You’re a lucky person if you get to know either of them. You two are abundantly blessed in every way, and I am so glad to have met you.. and continue to know you! When I was driving home at the end of the night.. I was reminded why I love what I do.. and how blessed I AM.. to get to do what I love and be a part of something so big.

I thought having the ceremony at their house was the perfect way to capture memories of their life for the past years there before their new journey in a new home. After their ceremony at their home, we all made our way to Benjy’s on Washington for an intimate several (I lost count!) course dinner… Amazing food, friends, and wine.. while everyone laughed and enjoyed each others company throughout the night in the wine room and upstairs lounge-bar.
