I think you’ll be able to tell just by looking at these photos that this was the wedding of the century… but let me go back just a little before that.
Hayley and I met at Sam Houston State back in 2008 when we became roommates along with 4 girls living under one roof.. one crazy roof. I’ve learned more that year than I have in my entire life…made friendships that will last forever.. learned how to use a dishwasher and how not to do laundry.. we learned what we did and DID NOT like in boys.. in friendships.. and much more. Getting to spend a day capturing these memories for her goes way beyond just a regular client. Hayley could make friends with anyone and everyone. I always envied her bubbly personality and way of woo-ing over just about anyone with her southern laid-back charm. She always had friends and events to go to and I rarely saw the girl take a break (or even at home most of the time haha!). Hayley..as i’m writing this with endless goosebumps.. it was an honor, a complete honor to be a part of this day with you both..to be able to recognize so many familiar faces and friends..
I was able to hold it together when I saw her in her beautiful dress after so many years of not seeing her… I was even able to hold it together when I watched her walk down the aisle with the love of her life… but when it came to the toasts my eyes got teary and I was having to hold my breath to not let out a huge-ugly cry. One of the other girls we lived with.. one of her bridesmaids (hey D!).. was also our roommate! And when she toasted I was flooded with college memories and nostalgia. I met Michael, the sweet groom on the day of the wedding. He was so laid back.. kind.. and down for whatever his bride wanted (smart man). He was perfect for her. When I asked him to take a picture of this.. or do that.. he was ready, man! haha. Not only are these two best friends.. lovers.. and more… they play in a band called The Lime Traders with Hayley as the lead singer and Michael on the guitar. It has been AMAZING to watch you grow from singing on the back balcony of our apartment.. to doing shows and following your dreams.
Thank you for making me feel like part of your family. I didn’t even feel like I was working most of the time as I was just simply having a blast!! You two are truly meant for each other.. and I love the way you love! Their wedding at Rustic Rose wasn’t just a wedding… it was a celebration, a party, with so many people there to show how much they love and care for you just as you have done for them. There were no dry eyes that day.. and the party definitely didn’t end when I left! Thank you for allowing me to capture these memories, enjoy some of my favorites from this country-chic Rustic Rose wedding!
