I knew when Emilie messaged me that we were going to be a photographer-client match made in heaven (yes, this is a thing, and I love it haha!). We had so much in common and when she told me we had kindred spirits, I knew she was going to be one of my favorite brides. It has been so fun getting to know you and being a part of this journey with you both!
The sweet Emilie and James got married on Valentine’s Day this year and celebrated among their closest family and friends. I can’t get over the beautiful natural sunlight coming through the Big Sky Barn chapel windows, where Emilie and her maids got dressed in the back room setup for a QUEEN (I mean seriously.. this is all-in-one gorgeousness!!), all the beautiful scenery/woods, and the reception barn being literally RIGHT NEXT DOOR. This venue you guys,.. is one of my faves! The weather looked like it was going to rain off and on but it held out for us and ended up being a perfect day and night for optimal lighting in photos! And they had the perfect evening weather as well for outdoor games (Jenga, bean bag toss!) on the patio lit up with strings of vintage Edison lights. There was a huge bed-porch swing, lit up trees, a pavilion with a view of the woods, and more for guests to enjoy in every corner.
The sweet couple did their first look at the front entrance archway-bridge. It was romantic and intimate.. and I’m so glad they chose to have that first moment together. (*tip: first looks allow for more couple photos done BEFORE the ceremony, so there’s more time for them!..the rush post-ceremony is real, y’all.. and they got more couple photos than they would have otherwise!).
My favorite part of their day (other than all of those AMAAAAZING details, photographer paradise!!) was the sweet toasts. I love listening to more stories about my couples and getting to know them even better through their friends and family and how people talk about them. It is so obvious how cherished and loved you both are, and I’m so excited to say that in the amount of time it has taken me to catch up on all of my blogging (haha), sweet Emilie has been cooking a bundle of love over the months, and we are so excited to see him make his arrival to the world very very soon! <3
They also had some SWEET vintage rentals from Lauren with Vintage Indulgence. (*another tip! when you see all of these beautiful chairs, fireplaces, love scrolls, ceremony arches, dinner setups, tables capes, etc, dressers, vintage items you wonder how in the world they found… you don’t have to BUY all of that, you can rent it!) Lauren went above and beyond to help make this the day of their dreams by going outside of just what is required and helped setup, too. You’re a boss, girl!
Their sweet boho glam wedding was also featured over on The Bachelorette’s Desiree Hartsock blog, who personally wrote “How To Style a Boho Glam Wedding” If you’d like to view that featured, you can find it here!
