If you’ve been following me on any form of social media I’m sure these photos are no stranger to you! We have been blessed with having this shoot published in a magazine and has been seen throughout several vendors pages and marketing. Every so often I get the opportunity to collaborate with other amazingly talented vendors in the wedding industry to create something for our portfolio, for publications, for experience/practice, for our own personal benefits, and… for fun! Since it has been published I can officially blog it, and I’m so excited to share the whole shoot with you all!
When we arrived to the venue for this styled shoot last December we were welcomed by the owner, Mark, who allowed us all to get ready in one of the beautiful new cabins that you’ll see the dress from Fiancee’ Bridal Boutique hanging from. You could smell the fresh cedar all around from the gorgeous cabins. He even let us use the golf carts to get from one end of the venue to the other quicker. I admit I had a little too much fun zipping and driving around from one spot to the other.. “Do you need anything?! I’ll get it!” .. just another excuse to jump and drive in the wind haha!
We had so much fun playing dress up with our amazing models Megan and Jordan who generously dedicated their whole day and evening to helping us with this shoot.. And our talented model Megan even made the “Let the Adventure Begin” sign that we used on the canoe scene.. A cool story about the bride and groom.. I had photographed their actual wedding a few years ago.. so when we started to shooting again I heard Megan ask Jordan “ready to get married again baby?!” haha! He of course said “yes, of course!” 😉 The invitation suite was a night-before made project. I went to Target and picked up some DIY gold and white invites and designed and print them from my computer. I calligraphed the front of the envelope with a mock address to complete the story. The hanging cake made by Shazdeh Cakes was carefully hung on a suspending wood pallet that our team was hanging while I was photographing the couples portraits. It was a challenge but it was well worth it in the end! When it got closer to dusk, we lit the candles underneath it to add a moody look to the swinging-cake piece. Monica’s vintage flowers surrounded the cake along with the centerpiece on the tablescape done by Kelly. We were running out of time and chasing the winter sun, but it was a fantastic day spent with so many talented people that got together to put their love for their craft into a beautiful collaboration.
What makes this styled shoot even MORE special to us, is it was recently published on Southern Bride magazine that you can find in most retail stores such as Barnes + Noble, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, + more! 🙂
