Marisa + Jacob | Austin, TX Chapel Dulcinea Elopement Photographer

“Her name is Dulcinea, her kingdom, Toboso, which is in La Mancha, her condition must be that of princess, at the very least, for she is my queen and lady, and her beauty is supernatural, for in it one finds the reality of all the impossible.” Don Quixote sees himself as her knight and champion, and Dulcinea as the most perfect woman on earth. Every groom is Don Quixote. And every bride, his Dulcinea. -Chapel Dulcinea

Elopements are seriously my jam. I love everything about them from the lack of normal wedding day chaos, the simplicity, the one-on-one intimate time I get to spend with my couples, the creativity, and the peacefulness of it all. I get to do a very few of them a year (would love to do more!!), and when I have the honor — it’s exciting because there’s a little more room and time for creativity and focus on the couple alone.

Marisa has held a special place in my heart since college and we have been through quite a bit together over the years and we have become super close! When she asked me to be her photographer/double-as-bridesmaid for her elopement with Jacob in Austin I was ecstastic! I’m thrilled to share this elopement from this summer when we traveled out to Chapel Dulcinea in Austin, TX.

Jacob got ready in a quaint groom’s cabin off to the side while Marisa was in her own little bridal suite on the opposite side and out of sight from her groom. Marisa’s favorite color is blue so she took her ‘something blue’ very seriously. I especially loved her pearl necklace, a special family brooch’ on her bouquet, and cute blue flats!  The chapel was quiet, intimate, and so romantic with no one even around: the perfect spot for an elopement! A violinist played while Marisa was walking down the path to meet the love of her life at the chapel on a beautiful hillside, the wind was blowing and it was something out of a romance movie! It felt like we had the whole world to ourselves to take pictures throughout the beautiful hills and areas around the chapel. They had made elopement signs and used blue finger-paint to imprint both of their fingers onto the sign during the ceremony, then rang the chapel bell that ding-donged through the air once they were officially husband and wife! The newlyweds then shared a cute lil’ white wedding cake paired with some champagne, it was adorable!

Thank you both for being yourselves, having a blast, and allowing me to be a part of something so amazing. LOVE IS SO AWESOME.
