These two are no stranger to my blog. Taylor + Holly may take record for my favorite everything straight across from bridals to wedding day. Geologist marries the gem of his dreams at this gorgeous Crystal Ballroom at The Rice wedding! These are the type of couples that make us love our job even more. So in love, so kind, so free-spirited and go-with-the-flow. Not to mention the obvious, that they’re incredibly stinkin’ cute and photogenic!!
I first met Taylor + Holly at our engagement session and immediately clicked. My husband, Brian/second shooter, had actually met Holly and her mom first at an open house a few months back.. and I’m so grateful for their client turned friendship and they remind me why I love doing what I do! When we left our first session I had already fallen in love with them haha! These two were adorable with every move they made (and they said they were awkward.. HA!). Gorgeous inside and out, their personalities are contagious and hilarious. Holly shortly hired us to do her bridal portraits and then wedding, and we were so excited to be a part of everything from the beginning. We did their engagement session around the downtown Houston area since this held a special place in their hearts. Holly’s bridals were also done downtown at the Julia Ideson Library (you can see them here if you missed it). And then a few months later we captured their wedding day downtown as well at two different hotels and a restaurant-bar!
Holly got ready at The Sam Houston Hotel with her closest ladies. We photographed her dress throughout the hotel, and Holly got her hair and makeup done in the hotel room. Her bridesmaids toasted champagne and opened up their cute Kate Spade earring gifts. We met up with Taylor and his friends shortly afterward at The Rice hotel. Taylor + Holly did a first-look at a local bar down the street from the hotel, and it was breathtaking. I love first looks as it is, but the uniqueness of this one puts it in my favorites ever! So romantic and dreamy.. my camera and eyes loved every shot of these two, it was so incredibly hard to narrow down to just these favorites. The first look gave us more time and more opportunities for couple photos and I’m so excited they chose to do one to get double the awesomeness!
At The Rice there’s a Crystal Ballroom upstairs with gorgeous artwork and architecture, and of course beautiful crystals and chandeliers. We did a few more photos up their on the beautiful couches and balcony that overlooked the city skyline and a gorgeous golden hour sun. The sun was a photographers dream up there and it was so fun chasing light as the sun went down. There was no detail left unfinished. A gorgeous guest book sign in when you first walk up the stairs, with their engagement and bridal portraits framed throughout. Their ceremony was so romantic and light, with classic greens and whites. I felt like I was photographing a celebrity wedding and it was truly the wedding of the year for us! Musicians played as the two said their I do’s. The reception was all things greens, golds, champagnes,.. breathtaking. I love the romantically lit candles throughout and the high-tiered white cake. My all-time favorite thing was The Matchmaker band that kept everyone on the dance floor throughout the night. It felt like we were photographing a dance club in Chicago. Seriously, a dream. Everyone danced the night away, had drinks inside and outside on the patio, enjoyed hors d’oeuvre’s, an elegant open buffet, + fun candy bar and coffee bar! Family + guests waved the couple good-bye to their honeymoon with hanker-chiefs, and left the evening with a bag of thank-you cookies! Yum!

Love the color contrasts. Great shots showcasing a pristine day.
