Of course I love me a good editorial-engagement style photoshoot outdoors with pretty natural light and all the elements, but there’s something special about any type of session in studio.
One of my absolute favorite things to do lately is photographing in studio… we tend to think engagements are done outside a lot of the time; but take a second to consider the amazing creativity that can be done inside a studio. The unique lighting in a space, shadow play with dancing window light, the moody textures, the colors, the unique furniture, the safety from any weather condition, the controlled studio lighting, the easy access to quick changing in the bathroom, the privacy, the natural light, the movement from window curtains, the AIR CONDITIONING AND OR HEATER (stay warm today, Houston), the variety of walls and decor that not everyone’s photos have, playing your favorite songs on the bluetooth speaker, the lack of interruption from other people, and the ability to just be yourself and relax in the freedom of your own space.

Another tip to consider when planning your e-sesh is outfits outfits outfits – feel free to plan with me and send me all the inspiration and vibes when deciding which outfits you want to bring to your session. Things that show movement, whites/neutrals, classy, puffy-sleeves, unique looks, and editorial vibes all around can be achieved with an amazing outfit and accessories. As you can see, Shireen chose outfits that really popped and showed their character for their photos – and it made a world of difference in how they turned out.
