I’m so excited to show this set from last weekend! I went on a hunt for vintage dresses for a shoot I wanted to do with my Step-daughter Lydia. I knew I wanted a “fairy tale” feel… I found a few things but when we tried everything on nothing felt like the way I imagined it in my head, and so I thought about it, and pondered…and we ended up putting two things I never even had in mind together, and it worked! It was a nice accident. While I had wanted the photos to be serious and dark, I also wanted them to have a light + airy feel to them. I feel like I accomplished what I was going for, at least I love it… maybe I’m crazy haha. Of course we couldn’t be completely serious the entire session, I had to let her “shake the sillies” out. It was hard to not laugh when I kept telling her to give me a serious look… especially when I was kneeling down to get a shot through the grass and fell straight back on my bottom into the mud! It was totally worth the shot though haha. Thanks for being stunning, funny, and beautiful, Lydia!… now I have a model for life! When I asked her if she would model for me when she gets older, she told me this was not going to be her job… that she wanted to be a ballerina. I think she’ll be a beautiful one!
