I’m finally posting about our New Orleans trip from last month! My husband and I went on a little mini-getaway on our only free weekend we’ve had in months! I wanted to get the ‘real’ NOLA experience so I decided to book our stay at an old bed + breakfast in the French Q. We stayed at 1870 Banana Courtyard French Quarter. When we first got there we were welcomed and Mary (the owner) even walked our luggage up to our balcony suite. It was a quaint little bed + breakfast.. I loved the decorations, the jacuzi tub, + the overall homey-feeling to it all. She told us we were welcome to wine and sodas whenever we liked and to help ourselves to anything! She even walked us to Bourbon street from our B+B and gave us a mini history tour. Our biggest complaint was that there was NO hot water, haha.. so we ended up boiling water to take hot baths and cuddling next to the fireplace! Of course the only thing that Brian and I cared about when we first arrived was getting to Krystal burger (there are none in Texas anymore!!!) and ordering 20 mini delicious cheeseburgers haha! We walked around and took so many photos. The second day we were there the temp dropped from beautiful and sunny to cold and frigid… I’ve never owned a scarf or gloves before (I know, what kind of woman am I?) so that was quickly one of my first purchases to survive the weekend. The tours we scheduled got canceled because of the weather but we were determined to have great time nonetheless (well, Brian was determined… I was cold and grumpy). We had so much great food, met some awesome people, saw some amazing architecture, and overall had a great trip,… though next vacation we take will definitely be beachy + sunny haha.
