When your sweet college roommate asks you to do her maternity couple photos.. and wants to be a little different.. you say YES.. duh! 🙂 We had a great time getting to know Sonia + her sweet hubby Sergio at our engagement session a few years ago, and they said their I Do’s in Mexico among closets friends in family last year. I was so excited when she told me she was expecting and we planned her session out way in advance and anticipated the day! I love working with previous wedding clients and capturing their first pregnancy together <3.
Sonia told me she wanted to bring their first baby, Buttercup, to the the session..and asked me if it would be okay (um, of course.. I love all things smol and furry).. I couldn’t believe I was about to get to photograph a maternity love session with a … guinea pig!! She had a cute little big sister sign made and everything, it was so super cute. Buttercup even stayed in one place the entire time when she wasn’t in the photos, I was pretty impressed. Sadly, little buttercup has gone to guinea pig heaven recently, so I dedicate this blog post to her! 7 years.. 80 human years.. I know how important she was to guys and losing any family member, tiny or not, is the worst 🙁
On a much happier, note, though.. 🙂 They do have their sweet baby boy Rodrigo now, and are enjoying every minute soaking in all the sweetness from their precious new love-bundle! Congratulations to two amazing people in love, creating and raising what I know will be another fantastic human the world needs and the start of your beautiful family <3.
