Tyler + Lauren got married in one of the highest floor of a sky rise building in downtown Houston, TX this January. Their ceremony took place in a gorgeous, window to wall covered room with paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling and florals hanging from the alter. The sun was setting so intensely during the ceremony they had a white drapery over as a backdrop, and you could see the warmness shining through it and shining on them. We had so much fun getting to hang out and take photos around the city with them! They are so sweet to each other and Tyler even told Lauren when she was getting ready that she could take as long as she wanted to, he would be waiting for her patiently! What a heart stealer! Thank you guys for being so kind always, and having a blast that shines through your images.
Lauren got dressed in an executive room at The Houston Club while the fellas were hanging out and having drinks and tying their classic bow-ties at the bar area, where the couple later had their elegant cocktail hour!
When the ceremony was over, a crew broke down the entire area while family + guests enjoyed Hors d’oeuvres + champagne in the bar room, overlooking one of the prettiest views of downtown Houston. Shortly afterward the ceremony room was transformed and opened up into a gorgeous dining hall with a bar, seated dinner, and dessert buffet.
We ran around downtown after the ceremony and took photos near the City Hall and streets of Houston. The 50-story building that the couple was married and celebrating in,The Shell Building, made for an incredible backdrop made out of granite, concrete and a white, marble-like backdrop. We took the elevator back up to the party where the couple entered through a dark hallway with the skyline lit up, and candles tracing the entrance.
I loved how modern everything about this wedding was, while still having a mixture of glam and elegance. Also, gold.. I mean, GOLD! No detail was left untouched! The party started when the couple walked in with their first dance and all of the traditional wedding-fun! They had a life-sized marquee signs with L + T that made the dance shine sparkle extra bright through the night. With an open bar, guests served at their table a 4-course meal, DJ playing music and keeping the dance floor hot, and a candy + cookie candy buffet, guests partied through the night. The couple ended the evening exiting with family + friends tossing confetti as they ran to the elevator to leave the night.
