Eric + Jade | The Bell Tower on 34th Wedding Photographer

This isn’t just any new blog post.. this is my FIRST WEDDING OF THE YEAR blog post! Yes, that’s how behind I am on blogging, but I’m going to be absolutely real here for a minute and admit that this is only something I get to really sit down and do on my days off or at night’s when I’m in my pajamas watching TV with my husband (literally what we are doing right now haha).. blogging is more for me than it is for “work”. I really enjoy looking through previous weddings and putting them all together in a story everyone can view. Not everything I do gets posted on Instagram or my website because there’s just TOO MANY PHOTOS, I could never do it,.. but blogging allows me to share a glimpse of a full story and gives future clients an idea of what their gallery would look like. I also love revisiting a wedding and remembering all the pretty details! With answering emails every day, keeping up with editing, social media, invoicing, shooting weddings, loading cards, paying taxes (yeah, it’s that season, too!), and still trying to stay sane,.. maybe you can get a glimpse of an idea as to why I’m posting a wedding I photographed in January,… in April 😉

—  I am so happy to reveal to you Eric + Jade’s beautiful January wedding at The Bell Tower on 34th! I love this venue not only because it’s literally right down the street from me and I can leave my house only 30 minutes before I need to get there, haha — but because as soon as you turn the corner and see what is behind the really tall green wall on the street and heart of Houston, you step into a whole other country.

This venue lacks no area for an amazing photo opportunity around literally any corner. This destination-style venue not only looks beautiful for day-time photos.. but it is AMAZING for night-time portraits as well, so it doesn’t even really matter what time of the day you get married here, there’s an opportunity for photos regardless of the time!Eric and Jade had her wedding later in the evening, so when we got to their formals, we were able to shoot inside right after the ceremony, as well as travel around the venue for a few minutes before the reception for some creative, romantic, and fun, night-shots. We are also officially on The Bell Tower on 34th’s preferred photographer’s vendor list, if you’re getting married there let us know, we’d love to chat! <3

The reception was setup with beautiful flowers by the fabulous Dream Bouquet, and their gold and navy color scheme was incorporated throughout every detail in the day from the invitation suite (made by the bride herself!) to the gold confetti exit. You have to check out the AMAZING gold cake too, it’s so elegant, cute, and fancy at the same time! These two were super adorable together and obviously each other’s best friend. I so enjoyed getting to meet them both,..their souls are so kind and it shines through their love for each other and all of their family + friends. I LOVED their surprise video and it was so great to get to know them even more through hearing sentiments and stories from the toasts and seeing photos of you growing up in the video!

They exited the night surrounded by their favorites and gold confetti bombs and drove away in a limo 🙂

Thank you to Millicent Muckelroy, Private Event Planning, for showing us around the venue and for a smooth reception! <3

Amazing bouquet by Dream Bouquet

Gorgeous see-through sleeved bridal gown by Justin Alexander at Whittington Bridal Brides take note! Cute and personalized hangers photograph SO WELL and it beats the heck out of the plastic hanger<3. Sometimes when I’m in a small space or don’t have much time to spend on bridesmaid dresses at a smaller wedding, I will throw the gowns together in a closet or area that I can hang them quickly and get some shots like the one’s below. Nothing fancy, but still documents the outfits! This entire wedding was shot in 6 hours. My second shooter who also happens to be my husband is usually the one responsible for these unique ring shots. While I’m photographing the bride and other details, I leave him alone to focus on the ring and little bride + groom details. Who says an invitation suite has to be photographed on the ground?Where there’s a wedding reflection, there’s me. Can you see me? haha So much romance at The Bell Tower!
