I know I’ve been a bit of a stranger to the blog recently so a little update on what I have been up to! I have been crazy busy traveling for destination elopements, photographing the occasional intimate wedding here in Houston during the Covid-times, and catching up on album orders! I also recently updated my wedding welcome guide with EVERYTHING you need to know to have the best wedding day, and had the time to update my portfolio and more! You would think this would be a slow season for me, but I have stayed continuously busy with catching up on an ever-long to-do list.
One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is getting to know my couples at their engagement session. This is a chance for us to get to know each other beyond the wedding day, you get more comfortable in front of the camera — and you can get a sense of how I shoot and how I work with lighting. It’s also a great chance for you to have photos for save-the-dates, which I suggest my couples sending out approximately 6 months before their wedding date. Did you know it only takes me up to two weeks to get your engagement photos back to you? That leaves you with plenty of time to get your save-the-dates ready and sent out to your favorite people. It’s also a great heirloom for photos outside of your wedding attire and something to treasure for years to come. Guests love to see your engagement photos setup around the reception area as well and it’s your one-stop-shop to having to find a bunch of photos of yourselves together — all in one beautiful gallery of expressing your unique selves.
Weddings have been rescheduling here and there for obvious reasons, and with my couples having to reschedule and push ahead their weddings — they are leaving more room for time for an engagement session you may not have realized you had the time for! Did your wedding get postponed and you want to have some photos in the meantime? Let me know! Let’s make some magic right now while we wait. Are you off work from Covid? Let’s travel or road trip somewhere and get creative with the slower times we have with us right now!
I recently had the pleasure of moving from a three-bedroom house in the Suburbs to a loft in Downtown Houston! It was an exciting and stressful transition to be moving during the times of Corona but it was absolutely worth it. I had a minimalist-bone scratching inside of me so I wanted to narrow down my life and simplify down to what I need and love the most. Now I’m loving the city life and less home-owner responsibilities to hold me down so I can travel more. It was the BEST decision, and I highly suggest making the leap from clutter to clear + peace 🙂
With that, I’d love to share some gorgeous engagement photos from the sweetest couple I had the pleasure of hanging out with recently. It has been so fun exploring my new area and having the best bagels ever right around the corner, as well as these awesome photo spots I’ve come across.
