John + Megan Part II | Moffitt Oaks Wedding Photographer

Do you remember the romantic rainy day city hall wedding in downtown Houston I posted awhile back? If not, it’s okay, you can take another glance at it real quick here 🙂

Megan and John were married on Friday in March(see the blog above*) following an intimate dinner with their family and had their reception party with tons of family + friends on Sunday at the beautiful Moffitt Oaks. The girls had an entire suite to themselves with a bed and an amazing hair and makeup station, with a little kitchenette and drinks… and an adorable bathroom with a clawtub! It was a bride’s dream. The guys had an entire HOUSE to themselves, and got ready upstairs and hung out on the balcony above the pool. The girls were getting ready in their adorable robes, hanging out and drinking fun rock-candy champagne, having a BLAST!! And the groomsmen were playing games and taking it easy upstairs in the upstairs lounge. It was such a unique venue with so much space to just relax and get away from it all. With acres of land to take photos in, a separate outdoor ceremony site (two, actually!) and a whole rustic-barn inspired reception hall in the back for dinner… it was a wedding-dream.

The couple’s favorite meal was brunch, and I absolutely adored that they wanted to share their favorite meal with everyone. It was delicious haha. And one of the most unique wedding foods I have photographed so far! I thought it was such a neat idea and so personal to them. The reception continued with tons of food, homemade omelets, a donut bar and more all throughout the afternoon. Megan and John and their friends and family danced the afternoon away and they headed off to their honeymoon in a beautiful vintage Bentley fit for a King and Queen. Guests could pick up a hangover-kit on the way out after enjoying a brunch + fun open bar.

They met online, and it was so cute how they printed their first text messages with each other on the guest sign-in table for everyone to see! They also had a unique guest-sign in board homemade by them. Seriously one of my most creative couples and I love how personal the wedding was.. and how laid back and genuine the day felt, and how everyone was just having a blast without the stress or pressure of a wedding day.. I know it may seem kind of different to get married one day and have a party in the next few days, but if I could do it all over again, I WOULD DO IT IN A HEARTBEAT. It was so fun how they got to experience both the intimacy of their actual marriage on a beautiful rainy night and a gorgeous romantic several course meal dinner…, and THEN an amazing celebration with all of the favorite people in their lives. There’s also so much customization in the details throughout their day like the custom hanger for everyone in the party, custom champagne glasses, cute gifts and snacks, and even monogrammed mugs!  It was detail-perfection.

Their sweetness towards each other is something to be desired and looked up to as a couple! They are so perfect for each other and I loved their love. I am blessed to have gotten to become their friend over the process of their wedding days and am so thankful for all the love Megan shares all over my Instagram page haha! You guys are the BEST! Enjoy my favorites <3.

I have so many more blogs to post and I promise I am trying to get everyone’s blogs up as quick as I can. We are actually going to be going on Vacation for the entire month of September, I KNOW SO CRAZY. And starting our travels off in Thailand. We are currently in the process of getting all of our clients their wedding images back BEFORE we leave, so no one has to wait don’t worry! 😉  We can’t wait to share all kinds of photos and videos and we will be making a special little video to show when we get back! <3
